SCOPE Education Services offers a preparatory workshop for college-bound students for PSAT, SAT and ACT test taking strategies. These user-fee programs are offered to high school students at an affordable rates. Program Overview All SCOPE preparatory courses are taught by secondary certified math and English teachers. The PSAT preparatory course is offered in the fall in preparation for the October exam. This 5-week, 15-hour course, offered in the evenings and/or Saturdays, covers critical reading/vocabulary, grammar and math and prepares the student for the SAT exam. The SAT preparatory course is offered in the fall in preparation for the November exam and again in the spring in preparation for the May exam. This 7-week, 21-hour course, offered in the evenings and/or Saturdays, covers critical reading/vocabulary, grammar/essay writing and math. The ACT preparatory course is offered in the fall and spring. This 5-week, 15-hour course, offered in the evenings and/or Saturdays, covers science, math, grammar and critical reading. SCOPE Responsibilities SCOPE designs and advertises the program with school district input, collects all fees, conducts a criminal background check of prospective employees, employs and compensates all program staff, secures insurance coverage, and is responsible for management and supervision of the program.
School District Responsibilities The school district offers adequate space for the operation of the program, provides custodial services, telephone access and permits SCOPE to distribute information regarding the program to parents in the school district.
